What is the Large Virtual Currency Transaction Reporting Upload
Reporting entities can submit Large Virtual Currency Transaction Reports electronically via various methods including the Large Virtual Currency Transaction Reports Upload (the "Upload).
The Upload:
- is a secure tool geared towards reporting entities with higher reporting volumes
- can be accessed in the FINTRAC Web Reporting System
- can only be used by reporting entities enrolled before October 21, 2023
Note: The Upload can only be accessed in the FINTRAC Web Reporting System until April 6, 2024.
To submit reports as of April 6, 2024, you will have to use either:
- the FINTRAC API report submission (geared towards reporting entities with higher reporting volumes), or
- the FINTRAC Web Reporting System (geared towards reporting entities with lower reporting volumes)
With the Upload you can:
- change a previously submitted report:
- To do so, you must include the full report you wish to change, and use the modified report with the original report's reporting entity report reference number to allow FINTRAC to link the 2 reports.
- delete a previously submitted report (in the submitted reports page in the FINTRAC Web Reporting System)
- either manually upload and submit a JSON-LD file or cut and paste the JSON-LD file contents
- Alternatively, you can automate this process by having an application upload and submit JSON-LD files to the Upload page.
