FINTRAC Guidelines

Effective June 17, 2016, reporting entities will have a one-year transition period to adopt the new methods to ascertain the identity of clients (described in the Guideline Methods to ascertain the identity of individual clients) following the amendments made to the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and associated Regulations. After June 17, 2017, Guideline 6 : Record Keeping and Client Identification will no longer be valid.
